Journalists offer story pitching guidance

A group of newspaper, magazine and broadcast journalists have formed a new agency offering training to PR professionals in the fine art of story pitching.

Pitch Doctor offers seminars, campaign consultancy and one-to-one sessions to talk about what makes a good news or feature story, how to maximise cross-media coverage, crafting press releases and handling contacts and clients.

Pitch Doctor has been set up by freelance relationships expert and agony aunt Flic Everett, with ex-Cohn and Wolfe PR director Jonathan Edwards and design director Pat McAteer.

Consultants include editors and writers from The Daily Mirror, Sky News, Cosmopolitan, Men’s Health, Bella, the BBC, Virgin Radio and other high-profile national titles.
