Phipps retains Kettle Foods account

Phipps PR has fought off two agencies to hold on to its Kettle Foods account.

Three-year incumbent Phipps retained the account following a pitch against Munro & Forster and Consolidated.

The account was put out to tender last year (PRWeek, 31 October 2007 ).

‘We will be looking to move the crisp brand into the everyday crisp category,' said Phipps account director Jane Alcock. 'Typically it has been seen in the past as a special occasion crisp but with the launch of its smaller crisp packets we want it to be seen as an everyday treat.'

Kettle Foods called in Hill & Knowlton for crisis comms last October following criticism over its attempts to stop workers from unionising.

It also appointed Andrew Slamin as marketing director in September.
