MoD loses chief to BearingPoint

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has lost its director of news to a management and technology consultancy, after five and a half years of service.

Former Daily Mail and Sunday Times journalist James Clark has joined BearingPoint as its first UK comms director.

Clark, 37, was at the MoD at the time of last April's furore over kidnapped sailors in Iran. He also dealt with the RAF Nimrod crash in Afghanistan in December.

'The main memory I have is the huge privilege of visiting Iraq and Afghanistan,' he said.

Clark now heads up a 12-strong team, handling all external and internal UK comms. He reports to European chairman Keith Burgess.

BearingPoint provides services such as technology strategy, systems design and architecture to global 2000 companies. The firm counts nine of the top ten global banks as clients.
