Rail passenger lobby gets new comms chief

The independent body representing rail passengers has appointed a new head of communications.

Amy Stockton joins Passenger Focus as it accuses leading rail operators of cashing in on Christmas by charging passengers high fares - despite long delays because of engineering work.
The rail watchdog grabbed headlines today after claiming that ‘many people will be paying far more than usual for a considerably poorer service’.
Stockton joins the watchdog from the European Science Foundation, where she held the post of communications manager. Prior to that she worked in the PR department at Network Rail.
She said she was looking forward to ‘returning to the rail industry, albeit from a different perspective’.
Stockton added: ‘Passenger Focus plays a vital role in protecting the rights of the rail passenger and ensuring we all get a fair deal when we travel on the railway network.’
