LSC hires Munro for public affairs role

The Learning and Skills Council has appointed Munro & Forster lobbyist Helen Munro to oversee its public affairs activity.

Munro replaces Hugh Milward who quit as the quango’s head of public affairs more than a year ago to be UK head of public affairs at McDonald's (PRWeek, 7 September 2006)

However, Murno has not been given the same title as Milward. Rather, she joins with a wider brief and the title external relations manager. Munro reports to the council’s head of marketing and communications Nicky Bunker.

The Learning and Skills Council is funded by the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills. It exists to improve the skills of England’s young people and adults. A spokeswoman said: Helen’s remit will be to ensure that skills and training are kept high on both the public and the political agenda.’
