GH flexes its muscles to retain BA account

Golin Harris has fended off eight agencies to cling on to its account with British Airways' cargo division.

The airline's British Airways World Cargo (BAWC) division wants to encourage customers such as freight forwarders to invest in the carrier's premium freight services.

Golin Harris faced eight agencies in the first round. This was then whittled down to a final three, which PRWeek understands included GCI and Burson-Marsteller.

Golin Harris reports into Stuart Forsyth, global product, PR and communications manager for BAWC.

BAWC is now GH's oldest client in its London office, having been retained for seven years.

BAWC has been forced to increase its fuel surcharge frequently in the last few years as global oil prices push the cost of aviation fuel upwards.
