The BBC’s international charity, the BBC World Service Trust, has brought in Kirsty Cockburn as director of comms.

Cockburn takes a remit to lead the comms team’s work to ‘raise the trust’s profile with media, build audiences, approaches and outputs’.

Cockburn was previously head of communications at the Overseas Development Institute. She joins alongside head of business development Awo Ablo.

The trust uses media to red­uce poverty and promote human rights globally.
