KFC review earns Neale a bucket

It is a truth universally acknowledged that the 'Let's Meet At... ' column, on the right of this page, is as well read as anything in PRWeek. This is gratifying for Diary and a tad annoying, considering how much effort goes into the rest of the magazine.

It is no surprise, then, that the finger-lickin' GolinHarris joint MD Matt Neale found his entry - a delicious assessment of the various qualities of Kentucky Fried Chicken (PRWeek, 2 November - earned him more positive feedback than any single thing he had previously done in conjunction with this esteemed organ.

Perhaps GolinHarris founder Al Golin, for 50 years an adviser to McDonald's, would be pleased to hear about Neale's eulogising of Ronald Mac's rival?

Neale could be in trouble but Diary hears he has refused to tender his resignation, instead trumpeting the fact that the magnanimous guys at Freud Communications, long-time agency for the bearded Colonel, sent him a voucher for a free KFC Variety Bucket. 'I'm going to enjoy it after the footie,' said the cock-a-hoop co-MD.
