MADELEINE MCCANN Hanover Communications has stopped working with the McCann family following the six-month anniversary of Madeleine McCann’s disappearance. Family spokesman Clarence Mitchell will now handle all media enquiries.

CSR HSBC Personal Financial Services UK has briefed Consolidated Communications to promote its 2008 Green Sale environmental initiative. Consolidated has also recently picked up a brief from M&S Money.

PUBLIC SECTOR Former director of comms for the Scottish Labour party Brian Lironi has been appointed senior adviser to Glasgow City Council leader Steven Purcell. Lironi is a former editor of the Scottish Sunday Mail newspaper.

CONSUMER APR Communications will launch VIP concierge service Key-2 Luxury to the consumer press. Senior hedge fund player Stanley Fink of the Man Group has invested in the company and is one of its directors.

AGENCY Former News of the World sports writer James Fletcher has launched a sports agency called Onside PR. Fletcher is currently advising the Professional Footballer’s Association on its 100th anniversary.
