H&K’s Cartwright to join Ketchum

Ketchum has poached Hill & Knowlton’s public affairs chief and board director Rod Cartwright to head its fledgling lobbying practice.

Cartwright will join Ketchum as public affairs MD in January, reporting to London deputy CEO Avril Lee.

Ketchum’s public affairs activity in the UK is largely managed through its corporate affairs and healthcare practices. Cartwright will be tasked with developing its international PA offering, working closely with corporate MD Patrick Barrow.

Cartwright is a veteran of UK public affairs and previously led the PA team at GCI.

During the 1997 general election, he managed events for Tony Blair and John Prescott. He is also public affairs chair at the PRCA.
