So, what key ingredient makes a good restaurant great? It has to be any proprietor of a culinary establishment who regularly trawls the Umbrian woods in search of the best truffles in Italy in order to indulge his customers' appetites. Enter Vasco & Piero's Pavilion.
This bijou eatery, with its cheery, ochre decor, immediately imbues a soul-warming ambience. That is even before you have tucked into the array of mouth-watering cuisine, whether it is tuna carpaccio with avocado, red onions & ginger dressing, or spinach & ricotta tortellini with butter & sage, or indeed grilled breast of guinea fowl with wild mushrooms ... the tantalising list goes on. The menu is sufficiently varied, but not overcrowded. And the subtle panacotta with fresh raspberry coulis is enough to send the Flake girls into the next dimension of ecstasy.
Is your mouth watering yet? Well, it should be. All washed down with an array of fine wines, with a slight leaning towards the 'Supertuscan' region.
As you can see, I am really fond of this establishment of extraordinary culinary rouse. Its unique passion for good food, impeccable service and attention to the vibe of pleasant dining is one of the best examples of gastronomic panache I have ever come across.
