Increasing numbers of PROs start up their own agencies each year, but as many as one in five fail.

According to Companies House data, more than 250 people have set up new PR agencies since September 2006.

The nature of the business – low overheads, minimal capital outlay, entrepreneurial staff – means PROs with a certain level of experience are not daunted by the idea of branching out on their own once they tire of working for someone else.

In this week's video podcast, Pocock talks about how agencies can boost their client list.
