Awards Special - Brought to Book for advertising naivety

One prize not dealt out on the evening was the 'Not Really Thinking it Through Award for Bizarre Requests'.

The gong unofficially goes to one of PRWeek's Book of the Night advertisers, who rang our diligent and good-looking sales team on Wednesday afternoon demanding that the Book of the Night be placed at each seat on their table so that guests could marvel at their ad as they waited for dinner.

This request was declined and said advertiser got cross and demanded to know why.

Gently, the sales team pointed out that as the Book of the Night contained the names of the winners, having it on the table before the award ceremony might be something of a spoiler...
