Awards Special - ... even though the bass was to die for

Also receiving a big shiny 'PR' last week was Westminster City Council head of comms Alex Aiken, whose team won Best Public Sector PR Department.

Aiken was reminded of his last visit to the palatial surroundings of Grosvenor House, and the raconteur proceeded to tell the rest of table 87.

'The last time I had any dealings with the Grosvenor it was because we had to close most of it down after the Litvinenko poisoning...' His audience exchanged nervous glances.

'Polonium is like gum, so flecks of it stick to stuff and get moved around. This place was on the trail,' he continued. 'What you definitely do not want to do is eat any of it.' Seconds later, the pan-fried sea bass arrived at the table. Not one person put fork to mouth until Alex tucked gleefully in.
