Awards Special - Gore receives First Class takeaway..

Albert Arnold Gore loves the environment. We can only assume that it is for this reason and this reason alone that Gore could not make it to the PRWeek awards in London last week - all that travelling would have increased his carbon footprint and that would never do.

But he now wishes that he had come, having won PRWeek's Communicator of the Year award - an honour bestowed upon the great and the good.

To ensure that Gore received his gong, it was entrusted to the care of Virgin Atlantic director of comms Paul Charles, whose airline is donating all its profits over the next ten years to renewable energy schemes.

The PR-savvy Charles, who hates to see an award not travel in style, made sure the 'Communicator of the Year' trophy went Upper Class, enjoying a glass of champagne and a foot massage.

Reports that it accidentally mixed the alcohol with sleeping pills and tried to fondle a stewardess have yet to be confirmed...
