Nicola Dodd joins Cancer Research on 26 November and will oversee a ten-strong team. She will also be in charge of managing relations with the charity’s retained consumer agency Frank PR.
Dodd has been at Colman Getty for six years, leading the accounts for the ‘Make Your Mark’ campaign, which aims to encourage entrepreneurialism in young people.
She also worked on the launch of the National Portrait Gallery’s Millennium Development and
author JK Rowling’s children’s charity Children’s High Level Group.
Prior to Colman Getty, Dodd was UK PR manager for vacuum cleaner brand Dyson. She has also handled media and community relations for London Underground’s Jubilee Line Extension project.
In her new role, she will report to the director of press and PR Carolan Davidge.
Davidge said: ‘The profile and awareness created by our PR campaigns has played a significant role in our successful fundraising.’
Since the departure of Lee Hobbs last November, the head of PR post at Cancer Research has been filled on an interim basis by Susie Rea. She has now relocated to Belfast.
