ABPI PRO takes media role at RCS

One of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI)’s two-strong media relations team has quit to join the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS).

Matt Worrall joins the RCS as media comms manager – a newly created post, overseeing the press office.

Worrall, who has been at the ABPI for three-and-a-half years, takes up the new job at the end of this month.

He reports to director of comms Alison Cook. Worrall said: ‘The aims are to raise the profile of the college and to make it the main journalistic resource for information  about surgery.’

Although Worrall’s title is public affairs executive, his primary focus is media relations.
