Shire Health wins Novartis brief

Shire Health PR has been appointed to handle PR for the Novartis Infectious Disease, Transplant and Immunology UK portfolio.

The new account will involve the agency focusing on communications for Cub­icin, Novartis’ new anti-
infective agent for the treatment for MRSA. 

The agency has also strengthened its team with the recruitment of two new senior staff to its London office.

Sapna Patel joins the company as an associate director from Burson-Marsteller, where she worked for more than three years with clients including GSK and Coca-Cola. Her background includes clinical trial data comms, media relations and advocacy relations. She will work on global acc­ounts such as Boehringer Ingelheim.

Meanwhile, Sabrina Gallon joins as account director after four years at Ruder Finn. Her experience inc­ludes the therapeutic areas of breast cancer, multiple sclerosis and eczema.
