New PA director for NHS body

The body which regulates NHS Foundation Trusts has appointed a new director of public affairs and communications.

Monitor has given the job to Rebecca Gray, currently head of public affairs at the Healthcare Commission. She will join the body on 30 July, reporting to director of strategy Adrian Masters.

Gray replaces Stephen Humphreys, who left to become head of external affairs at the Food Standards Agency.

Monitor recently carried out a review of its communications which recommended a greater emphasis on public affairs and stakeholder relationships. As a result, Gray is charged with developing and implementing a new public affairs-led strategy.
