Carr has been handed a profile-raising brief to highlight Celerant’s position as the world’s largest independent operational management consultancy.
He joins from supply chain management company Wincanton, where he was marketing and comms director.
Before that, he spent 16 years at aerospace giant BAE Systems. He initially headed public affairs at the Anglo-French aerospace company Matra-BAE Dynamics, and then became V-P of comms for the Eurofighter project.
Carr later returned to the UK as BAE Systems director of internal communications for 120,000 global staff (PRWeek, 29 March 2002).
He said: ‘Celerant believes that all consulting projects should deliver measurable results. I consider the same to be true of corporate communications.’
Celerant markets itself on claims it is one of the few companies in the consulting market that offers payment on performance. It currently works with Akzo Nobel, Bayer, T-Mobile and the Honda F1 racing team.
Carr has been replaced at Wincanton by Vicky Aitchison, who was unavailable for comment.
