Price hits out at anti-Blair press

Former Labour Party comms director Lance Price has launched a stinging attack on commentators who dismiss Tony Blair's time in power as nothing more than a decade of spin.

Writing exclusively in this issue of PRWeek, Price argues that downgrading the Blair years to little more than spin is ‘lazy, puerile analysis’.

The pace of today’s news distribution, and the lack of time for serious consideration and reflection, has led to stories being analysed before they have even happened, writes Price.

‘This leads to absurd over-simplifications such as Tony Blair’s legacy is all spin. Blair is the first prime minister in my lifetime to leave office without being tarnished by an economic crisis.’

ALSO... PROs are more satisfied with Tony Blair’s premiership than the general population, a CIPR poll has revealed.

The CIPR found 59 per cent of its senior members ‘satisfied’ with Blair’s term in power. A Ipsos MORI survey this month found only 33 per cent of the general population would say the same.
