Cartoon fundraisers get endorsement from Blair

Tony Blair has personally endorsed Wallace & Gromit's Children's Foundation, after lobbying by Insight Public Affairs.

The outgoing Prime Minister agreed for himself and his family to be pictured with life-size Wallace and Gromit characters last week – moments after a widely-covered speech in which he likened the media to a ‘feral beast, tearing people and reputations to bits’.

The Foundation is a national charity that raises funds to improve the quality of life for children in hospitals and hospices throughout the UK. Last week’s photocall was designed to raise awareness of the charity’s Wrong Trousers Day – an annual fundraising event, which this year will take place on June 29.

Wallace & Gromit’s Children’s Foundation enlisted Insight last month to promote its work in Whitehall and Westminster.

Having already secured the endorsement of the Prime Minister, the agency, headed by MD John Lehal, is now looking to raise awareness among both MPs and the public.
