Paratus beats off competition for ICSTIS account

The regulatory body for premium rate phone lines has appointed Paratus Communications to promote its new identity.

ICSTIS is changing its name to PhonePayPlus. Having beat off competition from eight other shortlisted agencies, Paratus will launch the new brand to both tech industry insiders and consumers, initially on a six-month contract.

In addition, the agency will provide support as ICSTIS’ remit widens to include regulation of 0871 numbers.

ICSTIS head of communications Parool Patel said: ‘Paratus has a value-for-money business model that creates bespoke communications teams specifically for each project or activity.’

Later this year, ICSTIS will be announcing a raft of consumer protection, child safeguarding and youth education programmes to ensure customers are being charged fairly for the phone services they use.

Paratus co-founder Dominic Shales claimed: ‘Our ability to create specialist teams, be it for strategy development, stakeholder, national or regional media communications, suits the new modern regulator’s ambitious plans perfectly’.
