Cow branches out with virtual shop

Cow PR's social networking division Herd has launched a new ‘virtual worlds consultancy service'.

The new venture aims to help companies through the process of establishing themselves as a presence in the growing economy of virtual worlds like Second Life. It will also adv­ise clients on ways to avoid mistakes made in the 1990s dotcom boom.

‘One of the mystifying things about a lot of corporate developments in Second Life is that they are little more than imitations of their real world equivalents,’ said Cow co-founder Dirk Singer.

Cow is planning to open a new office, Cow Island, within the Second Life community. Herd’s Cow Island off­ice will be built this summer in Second Life and split into a public area and a private office.

It will be used for client meetings and job interviews.
