Let's meet at - Langtry's

British food has finally found a home at Langtry's restaurant. Located in Knightsbridge, Langtry's offers high class British cuisine in a historic and elegant dinning room. With the restaurant once being part of the home of Lillie Langtry, the first society woman to appear on stage, I can't help but feel a sense of nostalgia for times past.

The subtly modernised dining room offers a great setting to enjoy the diverse menu by Robert Lyons. As head chef, he has created an impressive array of traditional British dishes but has added his own unique twist. Langtry's prawn cocktail is the restaurant's signature starter and sounds wonderful when described by the waiting staff.

However, I can't resist the thick-cut smoked salmon with potato cakes and a shot of lemonade. Other exquisite mains include almond crusted Somerset pork fillet 'toad in the hole' and crackling. Clients love a bottle of Laurenz V's 'Charming' Gruner Veltliner to go with it. For traditionalists, the strawberry & Pimm's, apple and elderflower sorbet dessert is divine.

I often visit at the weekend as the restaurant offers the perfect setting to punctuate a hard day's shopping. But Langtry's is perfect for meetings - its thoughtful menu and quaint, yet contemporary, atmosphere make it the ideal place to talk business.
