Cook exits Kaizo to lead Braben digital strategy

The head of Kaizo's tech practice is to join media specialist Braben as an associate director in mid-July.

Richard Cook will drive the consultancy’s digital strategy, with responsibility for a mixture of corporate and consumer briefs.

He will report to MD Matt Bourn and will oversee a team of six. Bourn said that while Braben had implemented digital work for many years – working on behalf of clients such as FHM.com – it had never pushed digital as a separate service.

‘We’re getting really interesting briefs from media clients keen to explore the digital world,’ said Bourn. He added that the new structure was facilitated by a recent move to larger Clerkenwell-based premises.

ook’s move comes four weeks after Kaizo’s tech practice joint head Lena Ahmed left without a job to go to.

Ahmed had been freelancing at the agency since November 2006, and was given her permanent role in February (PRWeek, 8 February). She was unavailable for comment as PRWeek went to press.

Kaizo MD Rhodri Harris said a replacement for Cook would be announced in three weeks, but Ahmed would not be replaced directly.
