CORPORATE Former number 10 director of strategic comms Benjamin Wegg-Prosser has moved to Russia to take the role of chief marketing officer at Russian online media company Sup. The former Guardian journalist resigned this month, when Blair announced his departure.

AGENCY Communications network Freshwater has hired Baroness Cohen as non-executive director and audit committee chairman. Cohen’s other posts include a non-executive director role at the London Stock Exchange.

CONSUMER Threepipe Communications has been appointed by Ramada Jarvis, as the hotel chain refurbishes its 42 UK hotels. Three agencies pitched, including incumbent The SPA Way.

CONSUMER Spanish wine group United Wineries – which provides nine per cent of all Spanish wine to UK supermarkets and off-licences – has hired Cube Communications, its first retained UK agency, for a trade and consumer brief following a three-way pitch.
