The agency has been brought in by the brand’s UK distributors Noble Distribution on monthly fees of around £3,000, without a pitch. The appointment follows a project carried out earlier this year by the agency for the launch of iLuv’s products at the German technology event CeBit.
Naked Ape managing director Jools Moore heads the account and will report to Noble managing director MD Hiten Desai.
Moore explained: ‘The campaign activity will be about the products themselves but we were retained because there was the feeling that more long-term work was needed to promote the brand itself.’
As well as consumer activity trade, PR activity will focus on computer and home entertainment retailers through magazines such as PC Retail.
Promotional activity will also take place at Apple Mac and iPod promotional event The MacWorld Awards 2007, which iLuv is sponsoring. The awards take place on 28 June.
Key products being promoted as part of Naked Ape’s brief include an iPod video dock with a seven inch screen, as well as car and radio adaptors.
The iLuv brand, which is an acronym for Innovative Lifestyle & Unquestionable Value, is owned by New York- based consumer electronics company jWIN Electronics.
