NGO encourages social media use

Charities should be taking advantage of online social networking to make money, according a senior figure at the Dogs Trust.

The NGO's digital manager Jacqui Darlow speaks out in the first in a series of weekly PRWeek vodcasts.

Following the success of networking sites such as MySpace, Darlow set up the charity's networking site Doggysnaps.com last year.

‘People don't come to the site to spend money. We're trying ways of turning this around,' says Darlow.

The podcast is the first in a series being run with broadcast experts markettiers4dc to explore issues tackled in the print version of PRWeek.
