Michelle Chida will take up the new position based in the agency's food and health team. She was previously working with baby food manufacturer Nutricia, the company behind brands such as Cow & Gate.
Unilever, which makes Flora, is keen to stress the brand's ‘heart health' credentials. Kaizo handles strategic European comms for the brand and the agency said the increasing importance of issues such as diet and obesity on the mainstream media agenda prompted Chida's appointment.
Food and health team account director Karen Thomas said: ‘We felt it was important to have someone with that background, given the current climate.'
Kaizo chairman Rosemary Brook, who leads the Flora business, said that Chida would help to strengthen the agency's ‘diet, health and issues management credentials'.
