Leading bar groups go shopping for PR agencies

Two of London's biggest club and bar groups are on the hunt for agency support - both following internal comms reviews.

The Breakfast Group, which owns Punk and Bar Rumba, is looking for PR help to ‘change ­attitudes to West End clubbing'.

The successful agency will begin by publicising newly laun­ched Soho venue Punk. If the campaign is successful, the agency could promote all of the Breakfast Group brands.

‘Our target is professionals in media industries, early adopters and a bit of the West End crowd,' said Breakfast Group PR manager Nigel Carlos. ‘Also, with the rejuvenation of Oxford Street Punk wants to help make Oxford Street's "less glam" end cool.'

The Ignite Group is talking to agencies with a view to hiring its first retained shop. The group owns the popular Bumpkin restaurant near Notting Hill, as well as venues Boujis and Volstead.

‘Our PR is largely in-house at present with agencies for project work, but as a company grows, so does its PR needs,' said Ignite head of communications Erin Chaffee. ‘We have ­finalised a shortlist of agencies.'
