2 MINUTES WITH: Helen Hackworthy, editor, www.radiotimes.com

This week we met the editor of RadioTimes.com and discovered they have a lot of fresh content on offer.

RadioTimes.com has recently expanded its editorial content and introduced new sections. What’s new?
We have two new sections: downloads and show guides. Downloads tells users which TV shows are available to download from the web and how to go about it. Meanwhile, our guides give users detailed inside information from the most popular TV shows: exclusive interviews and pictures, episode guides, glimpses behind the scenes, trivia, programme clips and links to downloads where available. We add content on a weekly basis.

What can PROs offer you?
Certainly at the moment, with our new programme pages, we’re interested in video clips and extra material around shows – images; behind-the-scenes details; competitions; exclusives; interesting news stories; and access to talent. We work very closely with the magazine too and look to complement its weekly features with cross-brand promotion. We always like to be kept up to date with new developments as long as the content is relevant.

Please identify your audience.
The website’s audience is younger than the magazine (average age is 35) and affluent (72 per cent ABC1 profile). There is a marginal male bias. They are interested in the big American dramas. Where magazine readers may sit down with a cup of tea and read a feature, our online readers are in more of a hurry. We need images or three-minute videos that satisfy their appetite quickly.

Any plans for the future?
We are looking to expand the community aspect of RadioTimes.com next month. We’re introducing forums so users will be able to interact more with the site and each other. We also aim to bring more video clips and exclusive footage to the site.
