SSDA reviews support ahead of merger

The Sector Skills Development Agency (SSDA) is reviewing its PR support as it prepares to become The Commission for Employment and Skills.

The national training agency, which aims to boost productivity and profitability in the UK, currently retains Bell Pottinger Business & Brand, Staniforth and Communications Management.

It is not yet known if the agency will retain another three agencies, but it will have a minimum of two, according to director of comms and marketing Jerry Lloyd.

‘This is our statutory three-year review. However, when the next agency line-up is finalised, they will have a substantially different brief,' said Lloyd.

The SSDA will merge with The National Employment Panel from this summer with a new board expected to be in place by next April.

It is not yet known what will happen to Lloyd's post. He was previously director of comms for the RSPCA.
