Letter - Expect no miracles from PR graduates

I couldn't disagree more with Mark Ramsdale's that PR degrees are a must. As a PR graduate in 1996 I knew a lot of theory, but very little about putting that into practice in the real world. Ten years later I am disappointed that PR degree courses are still not equipping graduates for life beyond university- be it in business acumen or even copy writing.

Limiting recruitment policies to one discipline risks creating an extremely narrow focus that leaves your team increasingly out of touch with the rest of the business world.
