Golden Arrow fights prospect of losing key clients

Embattled PA agency Golden Arrow Communications is fighting to hold on to its flagship clients.

The agency hit the headlines last month when The Sunday Times claimed that staff were being provided with sensitive information by government ministers (PRWeek, 23 March).

This week, sources indicated that National Express, believed to be a key client, is reviewing its PA account. Golden Arrow declined to say whether the coach company was a current or past client. National Express refused to comment.

However, at least one client is standing by Golden Arrow. The Passenger Transport Executive Group said it was still using the firm. Meanwhile, junior transport minister Gillian Merron has revealed that ministers have attended two events organised by Golden Arrow since 2005. She was responding to a parliamentary question on March 29.

Golden Arrow is headed by MD Andrew Sharp. Former director Mark Walker left in November to run his own firm.
