Athena Medical bags two briefs

Pfizer UK has given Athena Medical PR two anti- infection accounts, one being for the drug company's MRSA antibiotic Zyvox.

The agency, which already runs Pfizer’s annual oncol-ogy forum, won the UK PR campaigns in two separate four-way pitches.

The Zyvox business, led by Athena account director Emma Keeling, will involve professional and media relations as well as contact with political stakeholders.

Managing MRSA in the most effective manner for patients is the key message.

The second account is for Pfizer’s Vfend, which is used to treat invasive fungal infections, including those caused by Aspergillus – which can kill patients with impaired immune systems.

Account director Michelle Cammack will lead a programme of advocacy and medical education. Pfizer could not be reached for comment.
