Borders looks to Tulchan for aid

US bookseller Borders has brought in Tulchan Communications as it considers a possible sell-off of its British businesses.

The bookseller, the second largest in the US, owns the Books etc and Borders UK stores.

‘Even though it is a US announcement it has big ramifications in the UK,' said consultant Susanna Voyle, who heads the account. ‘We have to co-ordinate press expectations here with what is happening in the US.'

She described the account as a ‘project' and emphasised that no decision on a sell-off had been made. She reports to US-based Borders corporate affairs director Anne Roman.
