Irish Ferries takes on cheap airlines

Irish Ferries has asked Beacon PR to position it as a viable travel alternative to low-cost airlines.

The national account will see the agency focus on media relations with consumer and trade press.

Targeting families and leisure travellers, Beacon will stress the relative convenience of ferry travel compared with no-frills airlines, and its competitive prices.

Beacon was initially appointed on a project basis in February after Irish Ferries parted ways with five-year incumbent Flagship Consulting. Beacon is now its retained agency.
