Barbados firm to make LSE history

College Hill has won the first Caribbean launch on the London Stock Exchange - Barbados-based financial services group Sagicor.

The City firm is charged with attracting investors to a company based in an area with no LSE heritage.

‘Sagicor's listing on the London Stock Exchange is a major achievement for the group,' said Sagicor president and chief executive Dodridge Miller. ‘Not just for our company, but the region, since it is the first Caribbean company on the Full List of the LSE.'

The company has a rich history, having been established in 1840, when it traded  as the Barbados Mutual Life Assurance Society.

Among its subsidiaries are Life of Jamaica and Pan Caribbean Financial Services.
