Previously, Heineken used Salt for consumer projects. Salt continues to work for Heineken on a trade, corporate, internal communications brief in liaison with its Amsterdam press office. It also continues to work with Heineken Brewery brands Amstel and Birra Moretti.
Ketchum has an existing relationship with Heineken International, handling global PR for the UEFA Champions' League sponsorship (PRWeek, 4 June 2005) and sponsorship of the latest Bond movie, Casino Royale.
Ketchum stopped working with its then client of 12 years, Carlsberg UK when the agency was hired by Heineken International (PRWeek, 23 April 2005).
Ketchum director Nick Propper heads both accounts.
The work was awarded after a competitive pitch at the end of last year. Details of the pitch list and fees are undisclosed.
