Letter - We can all do better than worship Jade

I despair at Ian Monk's assertion that the 'media can't afford to banish Jade Goody' (PRWeek, 26 Jan).

Are we as a professional group (by this I mean journalists and marketers) so short-sighted and bereft of original fresh thinking that we have to suck up to the likes of Jade? I sincerely hope not.

Unless we all make a more concerted effort to raise the bar in terms of the people we want to read about, I fear we will never repair the tarnished reputation of our industry.
