AGENCY Cambridge-based Ware Anthony Rust this week acquired Peterborough-based agency The Chamberlain Partnership. All three directors – Denis Chamberlain, Anne Chamberlain and Geoff Dodgson – will remain within the business.

CONSUMER Sports nutrition company Maximuscle is in the final stages of a pitch for its first consumer agency. Used by rugby players including Wales centre Gavin Henson, the firm wants more mainstream coverage.

CONSUMER Indian food brand Tiffinbites is to use 3 Monkeys Communications to promote its products as a healthy lunchtime snack, as part of a £1m marketing drive.

SPORT Philip Dorward has joined Premiership football club Tottenham Hotspur as press manager. He is a former freelance sports journalist and has held roles at Lexis PR, Borkowski and Firefly Communications.

CONSUMER Online betting outfit Blue Square has given a darts project to Van Communications, and is on the verge of hiring a roster of other agencies. Van will promote Blue Square’s UK Open Darts sponsorship.

CONSUMER Bureau National Interprofessionnel du Cognac – the global trade body for the tipple – has brought in Accent Communications to differentiate the spirit from other brandies. Previously, the body retained freelancer Sophie Vallejo.

AWARD Xchangeteam last week named Sophie Banks as ‘PR Freelancer of the Year’. There were 98 PR and comms entrants; Banks was one of 12 finalists up for the PR title.
