Tempest-Hay is a secret drummer

Gordon Tempest-Hay - MD of PRWeek's very sensible Consultancy of the Year 2006, Blue Rubicon - is certainly a force to be reckoned with in public sector comms. He, for example, leads hard-hitting accounts with clients including the Home Office.

So we were fascinated to hear this week that Tempest-Hay is also a drummer in punk band Toy Factory, where he performs under the pseudonym The Tempest. Even fruitier, the rockers once shared a stage with Britain's most famous burlesque artist, Immodesty Blaize.

Keen to play down his achievements ('this is a bit old - the band hasn't played for at least a year,' he says) Tempest-Hay assures us that - although the band does still perform 'occasionally' at a leftfield Spitalfields arts centre - he has no aspirations to leave PR for full-time punk-rock stardom.
