Evans Cycles takes PR in-house

Bike retailer Evans Cycles has taken its PR in-house after almost two years with London agency Brandnation.

The move follows the appointment of Stuart Clapp as PR manager, based at the firm's head office in Gatwick. He previously managed PR for youth TV station Extreme Sports Channel.

Evans marketing manager Ben Hart said: ‘Brandnation has been instrumental in helping to position Evans Cycles as a voice of cycling in mainstream press and we're looking forward to building on this with Stuart's help.'

Brandnation will retain the PR contract for Pinnacle Bikes - a range of British-designed bikes sold solely in Evans outlets.

Brandnation became Evans' first PR agency in its 80-year history when it was hired in 2005 (PRWeek, 15 April 2005).
