Sting in the tale for Pitch cricket game

Pitch PR creative director Andrew Ager took 'going beyond the call of duty' to a new level last week by putting himself in mortal danger to protect his MD Henry Chappell.

After a hard day working with sports brand Mitre, charity Capital Kids Cricket and Australian talisman Shane Warne, Chappell was attacked by a wasp, possibly angry about the PR presence on his patch.

Chappell batted the airborne threat away with a strong defensive stroke, only for Ager to catch it in the slips.

The predictable sting led to much mirth among the Pitch team until it became clear a rapidly purpling Ager was in need of hospital treatment.

Ager thankfully recovered - the wasp didn't.

'It is now dead,' reports Chappell. 'It's the least we could do. But perhaps we'll have to think about adding antihistamines to our media packs in the future.'
