Cox joins from Coca-Cola in Hong Kong where he held a similar role in comms and public affairs. He reports to Lucy Neville-Rolfe, Tesco group corporate and legal affairs director.

Tesco launched into Asia in 1998 via the Tesco Lotus chain in Thailand. Today it has more than 450 stores in the continent, bringing in eight million customers a week. Last year the supermarket posted a profit of £152m from the region.
