BPPA offers City political service

Bell Pottinger Public Affairs is to launch a political intelligence service aimed at fund managers in the City.

The agency has joined forces with US firm GAGE Business Consulting and Government Affairs for the launch of the offering, named Capital Advantage.

The service aims to offer fund managers intelligence on the political forces affecting their portfolios.

Separately, BPPA director David Sowells - a former Turner Broadcasting UK public affairs director - has been promoted to deputy MD. He replaces Tim Walker, who left BPPA to join Verve Communications (PRWeek, 18 Aug).

Sowells joined BPPA as a director in 2004.
