GCI readies hire for London push

GCI is on the hunt for a senior pharma specialist to lead the rebuilding of its London health team.

The agency's newly arrived UK CEO Mark Cater outlined his ambitions at an event to mark the refurbishment of GCI's New Bridge Street offices last Thursday.

Cater told PRWeek that he was already in ‘initial discussions' with at least one individual over a ‘healthcare leadership role'. The recruitment drive follows various exits over the past year.

He has a strong pharma pedigree, having previously held roles including that of director of Ketchum's global health practice.

Cater said he was ‘starting from scratch' in respect of developing the agency's health offering in London. However, from GCI's circa 65 London staff, four have health experience.

He said he will initially target existing clients from across the GCI network.
