Lambeth sets out its stall

Lambeth Council leader Steve Reed embarked on a unique form of public consultation last week.

He spent an afternoon working at Brixton's fruit and vegetable market in the London borough - asking customers what they thought of council services.

‘It was designed to get across the message that the council is willing to meet people on their own terms,' said a spokesman.
