Fifth of PROs on the fiddle, reveals poll

Almost 20 per cent of PR, marketing and ad execs have fiddled their expenses, according to a survey.

But despite this scale of skulduggery - which is worse in other industry sectors, such as engineering and travel - none of those surveyed (perhaps unsurprisingly) admitted to ever having been caught out.

The poll is being promoted by Barclaycard Business and Four Communications.

When we ask Greg Moore, Four's head of media relations, whether he can believe the scale of the apparent dishonesty, he jokes that he sent an email to colleagues saying: 'I knew this would be news to you all.'

He adds: 'The concern is that people forget to hand in their expenses, or hand them in late - but because most have company credit cards it's less of a problem to see what they've spent.'
